Yes Boo, they exist. But there are sacrifices a person has to make for every job they do in life, I think. Essentially, I am very happy in my chosen profession. It puts a lot of wear and tear on me because of traveling and occasionally insane working hours. But it also offers fun perks, and I've worked hard enough over the last 14 years to have 2 rotating assistants (hence my ability to sneak on the org and goof off daily). I think the key really is about looking yourself in the mirror, asking yourself what you REALLY like, then doing whatever you need to do to do the job that you can really love. Remember that saying "Do what you love and the money will follow". I have certainly found it tobe very true. This means whether it requires learning a new skill, or moving to a new city. For example I had to become conversational in foreign languages for my job. Not FLUENT, but at least conversational. Actually I didn't HAVE to do, but I knew it would be helpful. In truth opened up an ENTIRE different world for me. Just having basic skills in something as easy to learn as conversational-pick-a-language, in addition to a good track record professionally, steadfast work ethic (sans my prince.org water cooler posts) lol, Im settled into a job that pleases me.

Oddly though, I am getting that middle age desire for a career switch soon though. Im at the point where I need to up my game salary wise, simply for the pleasure of owning property (and not just ANY property,I'm talking about my dream "refuge"), and for the kind of financial diversification that keeps you and your family protected in your old age. But ultimately,I do see myself as doing something not as 'people engaging'as becoming a cookbook author, travel magazine editor, or, hell maybe I'll start some envronmentally friendly enterprise or something lol

The trick to all this, my looove, is BELIEVING it can be done. Then make your plans accordingly and set your course in action cool

Hope that makes sense rose sun rose smile

I don't have my dream job, but I have a great paying job.
I actually enjoyed my previous job more, but I didn't make the money I do now. So, the decision was made to go for the money. The job is not that difficult, but there is the risk of being shot.

hug Thanks. Honestly, I've given up on the "perfect dream job" idea. I'll just have to get something to bring money in to pay the bills. What else can I do? shrug

I work for Customs and Border Protection. I am a CBP Officer. I work on the International Bridges between Mexico and the US. Normally, I work inside in immigration, but I do go outside a few times a day.

Unfortunately, more shitty jobs seem to be in existence then dream jobs. Now playing video games all day and getting paid for it, I could DEFINITELY do, no problem.

With a lot of dream jobs, people aren't aware that they even exist. When I first heard you can play video games all day and get paid - well - for it, I damn near fainted.
