Currently working on my wine snobbery. . .so far my fav is this 2001 German Riesling, tastes like apricots and honeysuckle, it's so delish. If anyone cares, orgnote me and I'll find out what the label is, I don't remember.

Kendall-Jackson chardonnay is nice too.

Most recently, had this cheap bottle o' red from Prospects that was actually pretty good. Simple, tasted like fuckin' GRAPES, but it was good. smile

Doves,

Any Australian Shiraz is nice, and I also like Madiera.

There's a winery in Napa valley called V. Sattui winery. They make really amazing wine, but it's not exported, so we buy a bunch of bottles, pay the duty, and bring it back with us to Canada. Of course, we're visiting family down there to begin with.

I'm still working through my Wine for Dummies book... reading

All right, throw away the fucking book, you're embarrassing yourself...it sounds like you just had your first wine tasting and you feel all cultured now. I hope none of the wines you like come in a box.

Guess you don't know much about wine since none of the ones I mentioned come in a box.

What's wrong with reading up and asking for suggestions about wine from other people? No, I don't feel all cultured now. Actually the opposite. And I'm not emabarrased about it. You're embarassing yourself by assuming you know anything about me.

Oh wait, you probobly want me to react to you. LOL.

Most Clarets are nice but particularly anything from Graves or Pommerol.
1997 was a great year and will lay down well.
2000 looks like ageing well too.
However if you ever want to spend some dough on a really great wine try this.

1971 Chateau Petit Villages

A great Claret from Pommerol. The Chateau only has about 7 acres but is without a doubt one of the finest in the world.

Try as many of the suble French wines as possible they knock all the "new world" shite into a cocked hat.
