I'm still working through my Wine for Dummies book...

I like Zinfandels, Sauvinon Blancs, Muscats, Burgandys...

One specific wine I love is Menghini Back Porch Nouvaeu (Valdiguie) 2001. It's from a local winery in Julian, CA.
There is another local winery in Julian called Witch Creek. Their Muscat Love was excellent and we sampled some amazing honey wines there too. Imagine the smell of honey hitting your nose as you take a sip. Mmmm.

We had some Pepperwood Grove Viognier a while ago in a Sangria recipe. It was yummy on its own, too.

My boyfriend loves Cabernets and Merlots, but they usually are too bitter for me...

I just like the cheap stuff. Arbor Mist. Cuz I've never had the non-cheap stuff.

The only kind of wine eye like is wine coolers.

Black Opal from Australia. They have a nice cabernet shiraz blend.

That is tasty.

Try Everything. Don't buy Cheap anything. Try also Amarone full bodied and Chianti for a Diversion on Merlot, Cabernet and Shariz. Try some Boujelouis Noveau that's worth getting every year as the new season and crop of grapes are here and changes every year. Create a wine Cellar. Always have Cheese and Grapes for Munching.

All resonably priced, although there is a Grande Estate version of the Cliquot that may run from $100-$150 U.S. (try to grab an early 90's rather than the mid or late). The rest should run well ess than $25 U.S, and you'll definately get more than your money's worth.

My current favorites seem to be from Alsace, France. I especially like wines from Zind Humbrecht and Ostertag. All of the Alsace varietals appeal to me. The best part is that the 2000's are excellent and currently available.

It's also great being close to Sonoma and Napa Valley. My favorite California winemakers are Abreu (cabernet), Shafer (cabernet and syrah), and Peter Michael (chardonnay).

LOL Paisley and Battier. I've just recently moved up from the wine coolers and cheap stuff. Bartles and James and Wild Vines. Mmmm Raspberry Zinfandel, a guilty pleasure.

I live close to Temecula, which is supposed to be a good place for wine as well.

Kendall-Jackson chardonnay and a good zinfandel or blush wine.

I love the tempranillo grape. it has a great vanilla flavor to it. champagne also suits my throat just fine.

I truly like Arbor Mist (strawberry) , it's so sugery. Personally I have tasted several "fine wines"..., although taste is the issue with me. Alot of the wines are usually (not always) a developed taste. The price of wine means little to me... (personally), although I do respect a fine aged wine, the "time" that goes into some is truly amazing and inspiring indeed.

My Aunt lives in Glen Ellen and has worked in the vineyard/winery's for many years, she would crack to hear me say I admire the taste of Arbor Mist. (smile) I will enjoy anyways...

Vina, I wanted to mention earlier... what was I thinking, I just might have to take a trip to beautiful San Diego and try some wine... for heaven sakes I am sooo close.

Yes Freespirit! Come to San Diego! Let me know! Check out those wineries in Julian. I know what you mean about the taste, I don't like them too bitter and I refuse to pretend to like them just to seem cool.

My boyfriend loves Glen Ellen's Cabernet, because it's cheap, but not super cheap. I don't like it much at all.

The funny thing about wine is, that you can eat it with certain foods and the flavor changes. I definitely like the sweeter ones though

I haven't yet, but they've been recommended enough times that I have to consider it for the next occasion. I'm not a big champagne drinker myself, but I had to know and taste a lot of sparkling wines and champagnes for my job when I was a waiter. I knew that I liked the Grand Dame Cliquot WAY more than I liked the Dom, and I had many people thank me for suggesting the "lesser" Cliquot in place of Dom. Of course, I wouldn't shy away from Dom either.

It's funny because I was a big beer drinker until I had to have so many wine tasting. After a few, I really became a fan. I wouldn't say a wine genius, just a waiter who got drunk too much at the restaurants expense.

Also, I wanted to mention a wine that has come to mind... you can taste some at The Olive Garden Restaurant's, "Principato 2001 Rosato DELLE VENEZIE INDICAZIONE GEOGRAFICA TIPICA". A couple of months ago, two of my best friends and I bought three bottle at $20 dollars each and nearly completed it all within a crazy weekend. Shhh... , we like to take it into the movies and simply sip and enjoy... the movies are never quite the same. Anyways...
