I felt it as well in San Francisco. It felt like it happened in two waves. It was definitely the hardest since '89. I figured it was in the upper 5's. No damage, lights are still on, everything seems cool, thankfully. I heard about one earlier today in Concord and I think it was in the 2's.

It was literally in my backyard. Alum Rock Park is like 5 miles away. Scared the hell out of me. My cell phone is not working.

I felt it. I'm watching the Warriors game right now and it rolled through a few minutes ago. I am in Oakland. It wasn't that strong, but definitely noticeable and, yes, in waves.

It felt stronger than a 5.6.

When the Hayward fault finally goes, we are screwed. My house is less than a mile from the fault line.

It sounds like it was really strong down there. I've been looking at the posts on sfgate and dailykos and the peeps in the south bay are making it sound scary.

I had Loma Prieta flashbacks. I am just about 5 miles or so from where the epicenter was. I'm still a bit shaky. I finally got cell service but I think a few of my friends don't.

Supposedly, USGS data puts this on northern section of the Central Calaveras Fault.

It definately reminded me of the 89 quake. It was very long. They're saying possibly a minute. To me it felt like 30 to 40 seconds.

There are a couple of people that I can't phone here in San Jose. I tried with both my land line and forget the cell line. That is barely starting to work.

Yeah. It was one of those wavy gravy earthquakes. Those make me dizzy. Although I don't prefer the ones that lift you and then drop. Those are scarier.
