Today is my last day...

... as a 29-year-old.

Tell me what it was like for you, hitting the big 3-0.

Well, I'm a guy so I kind of liked it. Someone once told me that when dealing with older people, it doesn't matter if you're 20 or 29, they see you the same - as a kid. But when you hit 30, all of a sudden they see you as an adult.

Internally, nothing changed but I did feel more confident dealing with older people in business.

Have a happy birthday! (And every other day, too!)

On my 40th birthday, I had:

1. A colonsocophy; and
2. A surprise party

I remember very little of either one!

Congratulations! May I present you this dish?

You gotta eat it twice before you say no thank-you to the rest of the plate.

I HATED turning 30.

I'm pretty much OK with being 32. But I'm definitely not turning cartwheels about it.

Make sure to take care of your skin. I guess that's my only advice.

It is now 11:05 P.M. so this my last hour... biggrin

Well actually my last 3 hours and 45 minutes, since I came to this world at 2:50 A.M. wink

You know what? Energywise I still feel like a 21 year old. Mentally I feel like having lived 45 years (experience wise, gratefully. Not dramatically meant.)

I always reflect on the previous year and boy, exceded my own expectations this last year! Each year I set a goal. This year I had three:

* Grow to a higher level professionally: CHECK!

* Increase personal growth through observation, experience and reflection with the goal of releasing fearfuelled obstacles that feel like they're keeping me from making serious decisions: CHECK!

* Make a serious decision, I used to not dare to make on my own. CHECK! Bought me an apartment on my own. Used to scare me so much I wasn't even looking at houses that were for sale.

My life is in such a great, balanced, harmonious, calm, exciting, rejuvinated, progressive, joyous state: I don't care what number the box has age puts me in.

I'm alive, healthy, loved and blessed!

Thank you for the well-wishes and dishes! Tips and advice. I hope the best day of last year, is the worst of your next year!

headbang

Now as far as the celebrations are concerned:

I took my beloved parents out for my favorite dinner tonight: Sushi! They loved it.

Tomorrow, my actual birthday, my girlfriend/sister is taking me to the movies. On Friday, my other girlfriend/sister and I are doing a bar-hopping-tour across the city.

Then both of them come over very early on Saturday to help me and my mom prepare the Indonesian 6-meal-dinner, snacks, cocktails and whatnot, for my 'official' Birthdayparty/Housewarmingparty!

I budgetted and planned this party since last May, along with official invitations and RSVP's.

42 people will come and party the day and night away, and as far as I have been informed, my best friend booked a stripper! LOL!

Bring it on, baby! I'm NEVER to old to throw a party and this will be the mother of all parties I ever hosted.

Honestly? My last hours being 29 were at a wedding recpetion. I got drunk as hell, and ended my 20's with incredibe lovin' from my man and fell out. It was great. Then I woke to age 30 with a CRAZY hangover, and he couldn't take me to dinner...I was too sick.

30 was a horrible year for me (not because I turned 30, it just happened that way) but my 30's have been maybe the best decade for me so far.

I still feel 18 so nothing really seems all that different.

Except the day after a night out hurts a little more.
