Sextette I watched this on DVD last night for the first time ever. In some respects it was more bizarre than I'd imagined and in other respects it dragged on a bit. I actually fell asleep towards the end and woke-up just at the point when Alice Cooper is serenading Mae West on a piano.
Has anybody else ever seen it? Ringo Starr plays one of Mae West's ex-husbands (as do Tony Curtis and George Hamilton). Ringo starts off using a fake Eurotrash accent and then rapidly decends into his normal scouse. Mae West is otherworldly in this. It's almost as if she's being remote controlled. The script allows her to rattle off all of her famous one-liners as if it's a Greatest Hits album. I think Dom De Luise put me off this film. He's in it quite a lot and I find him very creepy. He has a tap dance number whilst singing 'Honey Pie' from the Beatles' "White Album". The movie has musical interludes... Keith Moon is quite frankly Muppetational as Mae's costume designer. I'll have to watch it again tonight as I was half-asleep last night. Here's a clip: http://www.youtube.com/wa...ybUjvc49I0

This movie was really bad camp. I really thought it tried way too hard and it wasn't even funny in any way--camp or otherwise. I adore Mae, but she deserved a better swan song that this.

I've always wanted to see this, but could never find it. I did get a hold of Myra Breckenridge though. That was so awful it was AWESOME.
