IMPERIAL, Pa.—Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. has purchased a privately held California chain with 14 stores.
Dick's, based in the Pittsburgh suburb of Findlay Township, announced Monday that it bought Covina, Calif.-based Chick's Sporting Goods for $71 million in cash and assumed debt.

Dick's has about 340 stores in 36 states, with most of those stores east of the Mississippi.

The company earlier this year told analysts it hopes to have 800 stores nationwide within seven years, including 90 in California, 60 in Texas and 40 in Florida. Dick's now has three stores in Texas, six in Florida and, before the Chick's acquisition, none in California.

If they don't re-name the new store "Chicks with Dicks" then they are really missing an awesome opportunity lol
