You ever got hated on for what you were playing in your car?

lol I can't believe this just happened to me.

I had my window down - the weather is nice tonight, it's like a summer evening, but usually I drive around with my window open at least a crack so I can hear some outside noises. I had my music on, jammin nod - Not crazy loud or nothing, I don't front "with my boomin' system" like that.

I was in the right lane of a double-divided avenue and both lanes slowed down even though it's a green light.

So I take a look around and to my left, this 20 year old white motherfucker in this tall yellow truck looks down on me (*note the condescension) in mock enthusiasm, nodding his head like " YEAH!"

I threw my head back and laughed because for a second I thought he was actually diggin it, but then he kept that face for a little too long.

His left lane started proceeding before mine and I'm like neutral

I thought exactly of you when I was making this topic because you said "how come I never hear anything good coming out of people's windows" and told that story of giving your apartment neighbour a mix cd titled "FOR YOUR STEREO" or something along those lines.

I don't really know how I can tell you guys what it was because it's sort of obscure! It's a song recorded live in 1981 called "Rappin' Ain't No Thing" by Boogie Boys where they rap over breaks from Thin Lizzy, The Eagles, and Experience Unlimited. shrug

but really, unless you had a pre-formulated opinion on it, why would you bother to mock?

No but I've hated on others. One summer, a friend & I were driving with our windows down. We were in the left lane. All the sudden this 18 year old dude came up next to us, blasting Enrique Iglesias "Be With You". He was singing the chorus "now that you're gone....." REALLY loud. My friend & I looked at him, then looked at each other and started busting out laughing. lol The dude turned his radio down and rolled up his windows.

see these stories make a little more sense because i can imagine there was a "artist recognition" factor in whoever heard what you were playing, but AS IF that dude knew what I was listening to.

Were you listening to hiphop, he might have been giving you "I dislike wiggers" look. You weren't white enough for him?

I was dressed quite neutrally so I was surprised that a SONG could provoke that much of a reaction.

I hate people who blast their music in period.....unless they're taking a nice joyride in the country. Drive-Thrus are the worst.
