lol I know, I wanted to go to bed too but you just never know what can happen in a Sox game! They could be up 10 points and lose in one inning.

Funny, when I was watching the F-18s fly by I was thinking to myself "how cool would that be to see them fly over your house!".

10 points, LOL. Honey, in baseball, they're called "runs". razz

Ya ya whatever. Points, runs, touchdowns, pars, baskets....it's all the same to me!

What about the whole concept of "Red Sox Nation"? Doesn't that extend to the org? I only count three fans so far on this thread.

I most definitely don't give a DUCK about it.

I'm a lifelong Yankees fan.

What do you think about that phony "lifelong Yankess fan" Rudy Guiliani rooting for the Red Sox?

Phony is right. Any real Yankees fan knows you never root for the Bosox under any circumstances. Rudy is just trying to get votes.

That's one of the reasons I started this thread. Even here in Boston everyone seems pretty subdued about it. In 2004, the energy around the city was palpable even just walking down the street. Everyone talked about it non-stop. Everyone has stories in retrospect (I saw Dave Roberts going for a jog during the ALCS, and three years later I've convinced myself it was the day of the stolen base). Now it seems people are half-heartedly trying to get as excited with "We Believe!" posters and so on, but there's nothing to triumph over - no 86-year-old draught, no manufactured curse - the Sox are the heavy favorites, and everyone knows it, but for us Sox fans (and Bostonians in general), our identity has always come from being the underdogs, fighting back when you're up against it, and no-one knows exactly how to feel with a dominating Red Sox team, an undefeated (and seemingly undefeatable) Patriots team, a BC team ranked second in the country, and a Celtics team that looks like a powerful force unto itself. It's an interesting time to live here as a sports fan.

I picked the Rockies in 7 but Tony Conigliaro is still one of my favorite ballplayers ever.

Oh boy...my mom bought me one for Christmas but I've never worn it! It's on the railing of my bed.

I do, however, have a blue sox hat with a pink B and I wear it all the time!!!
