I will be in New Orleans in a few weeks on a business trip and want to know what is it to do (outside of the common things like Bourbon st., French Quarter, etc.). Are there any good local music stores? Thanx

I haven't been in the N.O. since October 2004. I can't tell you anything. I do know the aquarium and zoo and Harris Casino is open...Come to Lafayette and I'll tell you what to do here...

the general toursit areas are open a few parts of uptown also but for the most part the city is still in repair.

I'd like to go to New Orleans someday

I never been to the classic or battle of the bands but always hitted the house of blues and I know things have changed since...

The Bayou Classic is always the Saturday after Thanksgiving and the Battle of the Bands is that Friday night.

I personally would prefer to go the Essence fest, but my funds are too tight to be spending that type of money on concerts.

I think we'll go this Essence Fest '08...I've been trying to get out there but didn't have the funds either and some years, I didn't feel like going but things are better in my life now more than ever...
