like im not even kidding, today i got in trouble at high school for being gay!

me and my bf were holding hands during lunch when an administrator came up and told us to stop because "it's offensive and is distracting to the other students". When we refused we both got detention.

And of course, he didnt say anything to the straight couples holding hands, hugging, kissing, etc...

im so pissed off about it i dont even know what to do

this is a public high school, right? go through your student government or something and make it clear that if you guys can't even hold hands, straight couples shouldn't be able to either.

If you're not shy about this and not afraid of conflict either, I'd say call your local media outlet. I'm sure they'd be interested in doing a piece on this, and that would have more of an effect on the school's behaviour than any other measure I could think of.

But yeah, do what someone earlier said and call a news station or contact the principal about it. Just make you mention the straight couples not getting in trouble.

Call the local news. At my school I recall a sort of a "Gay Pride Day" or something similar where this type of thing happened and all the gay kids ended up having a protest or something... Kinda bizarre considering there have been students busted for having full on naked sex and there's still a regular spot, a secret among the students, where you can go to actually have sex.....

Well, if the straights can hold hands, so can the gays. That administrator was discriminating. I think if it was me, I would have gone to the principal or someone to protest the detention and complain about the administrator's attitude. Yeah, whatta stupid administrator. Makes me go .
