one year ago 2day On October 13th 2006, I was hanging out with some friends when I got a phone call from my mother asking me where I was. I told her I was in Pleasantville, NY which isn't that far away from where my parents lived. She asked me come home because she feared that my father had a stroke. I raced home and in my hurry, 4got 2 ask my friend who is a EMT 2 follow me. When I got home, I found my father slumped up on the floor leaning on the bed incoherent. As I tried my best 2 lift him up on2 the bed (it was like lifting 500 pounds and he only weighed about 180 pounds). Calling the ambulance, the EMT's came and applied oxygen. The carted my father 2 the White Plains Hospital where we discussed with doctors what was wrong. The cerbal hemoranging was expanding all of his brain. The 2 options were 2 have surgery 2 release the pressure but could turn him in a vegatable. My father had a history of diabetes, high blood pressure and a whole bunch of things. the other option was 2 substain the hemoranging and hopefully he would b okay. the family chose option 2. As he was being carted away again, semi concious, when asked if he recognized us, he responded "yes". This would turn out 2 b the last words I ever heard my father utter. October 15th 2006..the doctors informed us that there was no more that they could do. It didn't look good and told us 2 prepare. Even tho they would still try 2 improve him and hope 4 the best, they weren't sure he was going 2 pull through with this. October 23rd 2006..my father was 2 have undergone a brain electricity test 2 see if he could breathe on his own. He failed. He was declared legally brain dead and the respirators had 2 b turned off. I got the phone call from my brother who told me 2 come 2 the hospital immediately. He told me that he would xplain everything once I got there. I raced 2 the hospital calling my closest cousin, when he told me that he was sorry that my father had passed. I screamed in2 the phone WHAT?!!! He apoligized 4 telling me cause he thought I knew. When I raced in2 the hospital and saw my aunt who tried 2 calm me down 2 no avail. I was told of the results and the procedures they had 2 do. We stood over my fathers body in prayer and watched as they turned off the machines. Freddy Pino Sr. was gone. Please pray 4 my family 2day as we mourn his lost. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

that's a really touching story.
I always think, however painful, loss teaches us a lesson and makes us stronger. The memories about those who are no longer with us, let them live on until the end of days. 4 U
