Ex-Moderator | I always go for fun/funky/pricey baby clothes a parent probably wouldn't buy on their own. |

Target, Wal-Mart, Baby Gap pretty much every store with a baby department have box gift sets. Like Blankets and nighties, or diaper bags with different items already in them.

If you don't know what to get for the baby...then get something for mommy.
Never underestimate the power of good lotions, or creams for mom....if she has decided to breastfeed...then vitamin e capsules are an awesome gift...a little drop of oil from the capsules rubbed on the nipples before and after feedings will prevent a world of hurt. But....that's only if you know her well, and aren't embarrassed to have that kind of convo with her. [Edited 10/22/07 11:12am] [Edited 10/22/07 11:13am]

I got my friend 'chicken soup for the mother and daughter's soul" cause I couldn't think of anything. How about something cutesy from H&M?

I am looking for presents for both a baby boy and a baby girl. Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

Practical things. Not a bunch of toys, etc.
Their living-room, ect. is going to end up looking like a wasteland of rainbow colored plastic refuse for the next two years--they will be much more thankful for baby seats, sets of towels, carriers, etc. etc. than toys.

Get this for her parents:
They'll probably rename the baby after you! [Edited 10/22/07 11:24am]

Thanks! What's so special 'bout 'em? They make those black, white and red toys...'cause it's the first colors babies see, and the make the coolest rattles and teething rings I've found. Most parents already tend to have all the practical stuff...BTW, my kids loved all of their sassy toys as babies.
