Our new kittens thoughts on baths.

Our new kitten Dottie, who we have had for about a month now, has got fleas. We figure she picked them up at the vet as we don't have any other animals and she has never been outside. It's pretty horrible for her with the itching, and for us trying to clean the house from all the fleas and possible eggs and then trying to keep her from being attacked again. So yesterday we had to give her a flea bath and our beautiful little girl turned from this:

Into this:

I would say it's safe to say she is not a big fan of baths smile

She's beautiful!!!!

I've never given Sugar Girl a bath, but she's not afraid of water at all. I was afraid she was gonna jump in the tub with me the other night, I finally had to get up and kick her out of the bathroom. lol
It's such bizarre behavior for a cat. I had to throw away one of her toys yesterday cause she had obviously thrown it in the toilet and fished it out again. I found it sopping wet on the bathroom floor. falloff

Poor kitty. comfort

They can get fleas from eggs traveling in on your shoes. Lots of indoor-only critters with no obvious exposure end up with them. Sucks.

At least you live in a place with hard freezes, though. Around here they show up year-round. shake

All of my cats used to hate baths too. I miss my Siamese cats.....until recently it had been a while since I've had cats. This fluffy tuxedo cat's been hanging around for a while now, so we've been feeding her and calling her "Shangie". She looks a lot like my very first cat, black all over with a white underbelly & white paws. I guess she's ours now. shrug No one's posting "Missing" posters or anything.

You have to treat your animals with advantex or something similar. Doesn't matter if they are indoor our outdoor, fleas will find the animal!! Keep her treated and she'll be fine. My co-worker's cat got fleas and ended up getting very sick from something they were carrying. She is an indoor cat and the owner forgot to treat her one month. Those suckers always find a way!

Beautiful kitty btw!
