hey there guys and gals, I finally had my first mammogram last Wed. evening and received a call today for me to come back tomorrow because they detected something in my left breast. They are going to do another mammo tomorrow and also do a ultra sound, needless to say I am a little nervous about it since my mom had breast cancer ( in her left breast), so I am just asking for good faith prayers from all my friends and I suppose a little cheering up. We don't have insurance so I don't know what will happen if it fact turns out to be cancerous..guess we'll have a load of bills...lol..( like that will be something new!!) anyways..I'll keep you guys posted as to what all happens..if there are any women who have been through this initial fear, I would really love to hear from you especially...thanks..

My mother went through this a few weeks ago, they saw something in her mammogram as well, they did the ultrasound and biopsy, lucky it was not cancerous, thank God!

Sweetheart, the odds are way AGAINST anything dangerous. Everyone I've ever known who's gotten a second mammogram has ended up having nothing dangerous going on in their boobies. It's a very wonderful, safe thing to do, and second mammograms are much more commonplace than most women think. It's always good to rule everything out.

I've been called in for an ultrasound, my girlfriend has been called back for both ultrasound AND an MRI. . . results: we're fine. Our lumps are happy and healthy.

That's how it usually goes.

And the ultrasound itself is quick and easy.

thanks to all whom have posted and showed their support...hopefully u guys are right and it's just a double check to make sure nothing is really going on!!!! I'm just a little nervous, not too bad, I am prone to getting cyst in strange places for some reason ( just had one drained off the top of my foot a couple of months ago) , so hopefully it's nothing more than just a monthly hormone change thing that was detected...I really appriciate everyone kind words concerning my boobies.. , they and I thank you

Everyone is super-mega-cautious when it comes to mammograms so a 2nd look is not uncommon.
