Sometimes even in the sit-down restaurant it's not safe either. Once, the burger I was eating was cooked thoroughly but the meat was still pink...I conclued that it was DONKEY MEAT!...  DAMN I WAS NOT HAPPY. When I got back home from Mexico, even though I was safe with the water, I still got Monteczuma's revenge. Maybe when brushing my teeth. | |

Stay away from ice cubes and raw veggies as they're washed with local water.
Some of the newer tourist hotels have treated water. NO RAW FISH! Great source of hepatitis. I hope you brought some Immodium for the trip back.... I've taken it for one day,(it's an 8 hour drive back to the States) but it's not recommended beyond that, as you can get an infected bowel, according to travel clinics. | |
