Ionisators and ozone...good or bad ? To all you allergic mofos out there.... I wanted to buy a supposedly good ionisator last year but had to settle for two small ines since the big model, a true barfain, was sold out in a heartbeat.
This year, the same company sells an even bigger, cheaper and better model so I bought one. They´re very quite, they are not really air filters but they kind of ionize the air and make stuff like dust and pollen heavier so that it falls down to the ground and doesn´t fly around in the air. This is supposed to clean the air, somehow. People who breed birds are usually into ionisators, and they are not really that established on the market. And they increase the ozone level in the air, don´t know if that´s really a good thing but they claim the levels are still comparatively low. They tend to make the air smell a bit like chlorine because of the ozone. So, does anybody here on the org use an ionisator , and are they really any good ? Are they healthy or unhealthy ? I read an article on some website ages ago which was extremely critical but I can´t find it anymore. It was some baldheaded, bearded nutrition expert and health guru who kinda looked like Prince´s ex-bodyguard Big Chick ( R.I.P)....maybe you know who that expert is. So, ionisators...yay or nay ? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I keep one on in my bedroom 24-7
they use the same type thing to clean swimming pool water instead of chlorine. You shouldn't have plants in the same room, they will die. Dont buy them from sharper image. they are cheap and break fast.

some say they are bad for people with asthma.
of course the governemnet offical stance on them is they dont like them, but they use them to sanitize the air in thier offical buildings and other things.

A friend of mine gave me one that she paid $800 for back in the day. It was great to eliminate odors from the house. This one had a dial/gauze on it and I could tell when it was set too high. You can smell it, it would dry out my sinuses. When it was set low I think it was really helpful though.
I have read you can have too much ozone so it is best in moderation I suppose. [Edited 10/19/07 15:37pm]

I bought them because I have allergic asthma in the springtime. But thanks for the info. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs!
