One for the road. My friend and drinking buddy would always say " and one for the road " - meaning we should get one. last. drink.
Even though the last one was really the last drink we got. But it happens. (She is Irish) She would change from lager/beer to whisky. I would have a vodka. What is your "one for the road drink?" (i.e. Last drink before leaving to go home?) [Edited 10/18/07 13:52pm] Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

Once upon a time it would be a vodka red bull. But that meant I needed to find an after party and I'd be up till 5am.
Nowadays, I rarely even have a first drink. |

Years ago I realized I needed to only drink beer or wine, or not drink at all
So my last drink is always beer or wine. But I absolutely hate bars and clubs, so there never is one for the road Le prego di non toccare la macchina per favore!

I know it's boring but these days I always drink plenty of water last of all. I haven't had a single hangover the following day since I started doing that.

Pah! Boring! What happened to the Vodka Redbulls, or the late night Courvosier? Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

Nowadays, I rarely even have a first drink. No way! Are you tee-total? oh goodness, no. It's just that once upon a time I was out having drinks 3-5 nights a week. These days it's closer to once every month or so, if that. |

Pah! Boring! What happened to the Vodka Redbulls, or the late night Courvosier? Ask Carrie. The bar always had to close after she'd been there.
