Spaghetti

If you're anything like me, most of you eat spaghetti several times a week, or pasta in some form, be it the little shells, or the macaroni things, it all tastes the same! biggrin

What's your favorite sauce to accompany your spaghetti?
I prefer Ragu's "Chunky Gardenstyle" with Tomato, Basil, and Italian Cheese.

I usually make my own sauce...prefer it to the bottled or can shtuff...although the seasoned diced tomatoes I use when making it are usually from a can...go figure...

By the way...angel hair pasta tossed with S&W diced tomatoes ("Italian" or "Herb & Garlic" or "Southwestern", I forget..lol) and some parmesean cheese is excellent...!

Being 100% dago myself, I have the luxury of having Grandma's sauce every Sunday. Either a marinara or meat sauce.

Anyone here ever have calimari sauteed in marinara???
It is unbelievable nod

What about tripe??? Mexicans call in Menudo. It's the interior lining of a cow's stomach I believe...or the intestines. It's gross but good nonetheless.

Be sure to have enough olive oil to begin with to coat everything when you are done. I use a couple cloves of garlic and season with salt and pepper.

My favorite:

I like fresh pasta...made from my own recipe. biggrin

Then...homemade tomato sauce, with fresh herbs (heavy on the basil)...topped of with freshly grated parmesean - baked in a casserole dish... and served HOT!

mmm

But usually:

Barilla Spaghetti (boiled with red onion and olive oil), mixed with (oh the irony) Ragu's "Chunky Gardenstyle" with Tomato, Basil, and Italian Cheese. :O Baked in the oven with shredded cheddar/jack cheese on top!

biggrin

as much as I
LOVE
pasta, I've reduced my weekly intake.
Now when I eat it, it's mostly in the morning.

I prefer rotini
or cheese-filled tortellini
with
a marinara sauce containing Italian sausage, MUSHROOMS, onions, green peppers & black olives

I make some damn good spaghetti sauce... but it has meat in it. Which defeats its own purpose, unfortunately.

I like Newman's Own veggie sauce! The whole line!

yay! Paul Newman yay!

I like Spicy Tomato Sauce,Clam sauce, or Fettuchini Sauce. Barilla makes wonderful sauces as does Paul Newman also the Contadina or De Giorno Gourmet brands are wonderful. I sometimes get some Homemade sauces at the Italian Pasta and Ravioli places oh and how can I forget good old Olive oil and Sauteed Garlic.

i'm just starting to get into calamari...my dad came to town for the annual Feast of the Assumption in Little Italy, and i tried some of the calmari he ordered. not bad...they were little small rings, though. i was at another of my favorite places a couple weeks ago, and the calamari rings were the size of regular onion rings...

Although I wouldnt go that far I do think it is over rated.

People just live on that shit. It's too boring to get too excited about. I like it but it's over-rated.

If I have pasta i like spicy varieties with hot salami, chilli etc
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.
