So I'm a regular watcher of 'The View' and I was wondering how everyone else is feeling out this new season. I've been a fan for about 4 years now. I loved the years with Meredith. Star annoyed the hell outta me. Last year was an incredible, unpredicable year with Ms. Rosie taking over. It was a true definition of 'Must See TV'...you did not know what was gonna come out of the super 'Hot Topics'..

This year...Barbara Walters...who aged 10 more years last season...replaced Ro with the great Whoopi Goldberg and finally filled Star's old seat with comic Sherri Shephard..who co-hosted the show many times last year including 'Rosie vs. Elizabeth' day...which according to the shows Executive Producer, Bill Gedde, earned her the spot. He loved how she tried to bring comedy to tone down the fight..but his long simmering fight was gonna explode no matter what!

So this year..it's much more tame than last year but I think Whoopi is a great Mod and she's funny and is not shy to make her opinions known. She and Republican Elisabeth have argued on a few topics but Whoopi has a way to express herself and allow Elizabeth to express herself without a fight breaking out. Whoopi has this 'I know what you believe but if you can just hear me out on this...you may think twice' approach which is refreshing.

As for Sherri, I was one of many who endlessly emailed the network and the shows producers to add her as part of the show. She was always so great and funny and lighthearted.

It's obvious that she has not decided where she stands politcally but it's clear she is on the conservative side when it comes to topics such as evolution and religion. It was actually something that took many by surprise..some saying she makes Elizabeth look like a far left liberal.

I think Sherri is just feeling it out but I gotta say she will never live down her now-retracted comments about not knowing whether the world was round. She has joked couple times since and I give her benefit of a doubt..it was clear that she is not used to sharing heavy topics and little by little she is making her voice known as she grows.

So so far this year gets a 'B' from me...it's better than it was pre-Rosie...but last year was just amazing (or unwatchable for many...there was no middle ground with Ro...you loved it or hated it...I LOVE IT)

It's really hard on the ears, this show. I've never actually watched it, but it's on in the breakroom when I grab coffee in the mornings. All I hear is "SQUAK SQUAK SQUAK SQUAK SQUAK". Five broads talking over each other. I don't know how people can enjoy that.

I only liked it when Star Jones interviewed Prince, a long time ago.

I was a loyal fan in the early days back when they had the original "cast" including Debbie Stephanolplis. I enjoyed it back then, I tried to hang on, really I did. But it just went down hill, fast!
