Has anyone got one of these hair straightening irons?

they did a demo on me at the mall today and I was amazed eek I spend hours with a blowdryer and product to get it to look like they did in 3 minutes.

but AUS$199 I thought was a bit steep, but it curls as well

I've tried these two on my hair and both work great and are about half the price of the one you tried. Ebay has good deals on these too.

GHD's work well and ohters too I am sure but you can be sure that it damages your hair very badly. I bought some special spray before straightening my hair but it is really bad. I only use mine every 3 months.

shocked

My neighbor gave me her GHD (Good Hair Day) straightener to use to see what a difference it makes compared to mine.
Like Charlotte, I spend way too much time making my hair look decent.
It did cut down the styling time..they are HOT!

Jami~ i would recommend being very careful when you use it.... wink

Damage is done by using the wrong styling products it's all in the preperation.
GHD heat up fast and run smooth down the hair shaft no need to go over the area 2 many times, i have seen more damage done by using the wrong brush and hairdyer on high heat than using GHD's, they maybe costly but i do recomend them as less times spent on your hair syling the less damage is done.

Hairdressers (or at least honest ones) will always tell you that any straighteners are bad for your hair. I was laughing at my friend who was straigtening her hair with an iron years ago, but actually it is actually the same thing, straighteners look different but the concept is the same.
The result is good, yes it works no doubt but avoid using it often.
Curly hair is fine too biggrin

they curl as well! woot!

my hair is close to dead straight, but prone to frizz. If I want to look noice when I got out (four times a year flyingpig ), one of these babies will do the trick thumbs up!

If my hair was curly I would be more than happy to leave it that way but mine is straight with a wave/frizz..
yes my straight hair ain't got no curl...

I wish it did..I hate using a straightener..when I am lazy I just use a huge curling iron and just put waves in it to tame the frizz.
It is all bad I know..I have greys so I colour it as well.
