I don't even agree with the Child Support Agency in theory - let alone practise - and I hate kids. I don't know why I ended up there at all.

too funny. I forget the comic that said we need to send child support to hunt Binladin they'll find that MF!!!!

Honestly. It's depressing the amount of women whom use men as a sperm donor and later as a meal ticket. I know that may sound mysogynistic, but it's the truth.

It also belittles the mothers whom really are at the mercy of dead-beat fathers. It's not uncommon to see a claimant with five or six different children from as many different fathers. The majority of these women are making a career out of screwing men - both literally and metaphorically.

But like I said, it isn't all women - just the majority. I'm not over-exaggerating here, it's the truth.

Before the UK Government set-up the Child Support Agency, the parent with care would have to go to court to sue for maintenance payments. Financial assistance to pursue the court case would have been provided through the Legal Aid system if need be. It worked and I don't know why they had to change it.

Now, I believe it's too easy, as it's just one form which has to be filled out at a Department of Social Security office to set the wheels in motion.

Mind-bogglingly, regardless of the parent with care's income, they receive a flat percentage of the of the absent parent's wage. So, the father could have been thrown out of the marital home, lost his job due to depression and stress, whilst the mother has a £30,000 salary. The father would have deductions taken from his welfare payments if he was unable to work.

At the other end of the scale, the father could earn £50,000 a year and find himself paying nearly a quarter of his salary to the mother. A father earning minimum wage of £11,500 a year could also find himself paying a quarter of his salary. Why should a child from one family receive a pittance when another receives a fortune each month? It's all wrong.

Here's a post on a forum discussing the office I work at in Bolton: http://www.parentscentre....adid=26677

This response to a Yahoo Question, states, "I really pray your case isn't in Bolton!!": http://uk.answers.yahoo.c...110AAeFyZz

In fact, if you just Google "CSA Bolton", there's absolutely nothing good said about the operation by either the fathers or mothers.

And here's a news story from over nine years ago, discussing the agency's failings: http://archive.thisislanc...08320.html

CSA despair of fathers
From the Bolton Evening News, first published Wednesday 11th Feb 1998.

A BOLTON dad has been forced to pay maintenance for three years to the drug addict mother of his son - even though he has been looking after the boy throughout that time.

The shock case was raised in the Commons by Bolton MP Brian Iddon as he launched a devastating attack on the Child Support Agency.

And it brought a promise from the Government that a "major reform" of the CSA was under way.

Dr Iddon accused it of being too complicated and inflexible and produced examples of how it was hurting his constituents:

One Bolton man tried to commit suicide because he was being hounded by the CSA;

Another man spent £28 on a single phone call because he had to hold on the line for so long.

But the worst case concerned the dad who had to get his child back from his partner and then pay twice for his upkeep.

The Bolton South East MP told Social Security minister Frank Field of the problems besetting his constituents.

He said: "In one case, the mother was awarded care of the son for 18 months. Unfortunately, it became apparent that she was a drug addict.

"The father has now looked after the son for three years. He has been to me several times in desperation because he is still being made to pay child maintenance to the drug addict mother.

"Although I have tried, I cannot persuade the Child Support Agency to stop the order.

"Another constituent has tried to commit suicide three times. He often breaks down when he comes to see me.

"Over a period of 18 months, he has had 16 reassessments of between £12 and £110, despite the fact that his wage has never changed.

"He has received no overtime or any other significant alteration in his income over that period."

Dr Iddon has several constituents who are paying maintenance for children over 18 and had to make repeated applications to the CSA to get it to end the automatic deduction of earnings.

Many would like to discuss their problems in person with CSA staff but were refused.

He added: "One constituent tried to contact the CSA many times - unfortunately on a mobile phone.

"When he got through, it took 45 minutes to get an answer to his query. He did not dare hang up because he was desperate to sort it out. That one call cost him £28."

Mr Field promised Dr Iddon and other MPs during a special debate on the CSA that major reform was on the way.
