its been awhile but I would look for story lines with strong female characters and with multicultural themes. Syd's world was very diverse with her "aunts and uncles" being gay, white, Puerto Rican, black, etc.
I wanted books that reflected her world. VERY hard to find though.... | |

what kids seem to like: silly sounding words, repetition, interaction

When our children were younger - reading to them was not just at bedtime
we started reading outloud to them under a yrs age - anyway everything - I had a case with over 200 childrens books though we would alsoread to the from magizines and what not I was more into reading them info that was real life kinda stuff - thei big siblings would read to them all the fun fluff kid books | |
