How secure are you? I was totally shocked when I visited my cousin's house and he just had one teeny, flimsy lock on his front door.
Especially in these days. Even I could have kicked the door in the way it had been put in. I remember the days when you could leave the house with the doors unlocked, but got me thinking: How secure is your home, and does it reflect the area you live in? Luckily I am in a new home and I have an alarm wired up to every room, the door is double locked with a chain and we have security cameras outside. So I do feel relatively safe. I might even take advantage of that, and feel overly safe. I don't know. Touch wood. Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

Ex-Moderator | Considering how many orgers know where I live, I'm not sure I feel comfortable answering this question.
No, for real. |

My place is not secure at all. I live in a partial basement with very large windows. My apartment complex does not have a lock on the foyer door and my locks (3 locks on each door) are not the greatest.

No, for real. You know they couldn't leave your place without logging in first. So there you go. Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

Isn't it kind of scary though, when you think about it? I mean I am not here to put the frightners on you, but I have had some random dreams about people breaking in through my windows. On a lighter scale, I knew a guy who wrote his name and address on his KEYRING/CHAIN!! Wtf? and another who,if he lost his key had a piece of string hanging infront of his letterbox inside his house, so anyone (if they knew) could put their hand in, grab the string, pull it through and open the door. Dumbasses. Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

I have 3 locks on my front door and 3 on the back door. I could definitely be more secure in my home, but I guess it's alright considering that nothing ever happens in my town.

Ex-Moderator | I will say, I live in a very safe neighborhood, all things considered. There isn't a lot of crime at all, let alone violent crime. Someone was shot in Uptown last year and it was all over the news for weeks. My mother was worried about me until I pointed out the reason it was all over the news forEVER is because it just doesn't happen here. People are shot in north mpls all the time and it barely gets any coverage, if at all. |

Ex-Moderator | My last apartment I used to leave the door unlocked all the time when I was home and sometimes even when I'd run to the store or something and couldn't find my keys quickly. Because I had a weird private entrance tucked away in a place that wasn't visible to the street or alleyway, no one who hadn't been in my house would even know how to get in.
I stopped doing it, however, when my upstair's neighbor's transient roommate drunkenly walked right into my apartment when she'd locked herself out of the house in the winter. It scared the HELL out of me till I realized who it was. I had to call the landlord to bring her a key. And sat with her on the stairs while she waited for him and cried about her messed up life. That was an evening. |

But it's good, as I can head off to the exciting areas, but not have it on my doorstop. Where I live is a cul de sac too, so nobody can walk through unless they are purposely visiting a house there. So kids don't hang out where I am. But maybe that IS a false sense of security. I feel safe where I am. But is ANYWHERE really safe? Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

No, for real. 1. Get address from Muse 2. Enter window with pink curtain at the top. 3. Turn right, grab TV 4. Exit.
