Could you live on half your salary/income? At a squeeze, I could, but I would have to give up quite a bit and my lifestyle would change considerably so. Again it sometimes makes me feel we may be alot luckier than we initially think. Agree or disagree?

I definitely couldn't, because I already make a crappy wage when I am working. The only plus I have is that the place I live in is paid for, as well as my car. But I still need enough money for property taxes, utility bills, car repairs, doctor's visits, and the like. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

If you couldn't I am sure you would seek help elsewhere, or get another job. You don't always just "have to" - huh? Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

You are fortunate that your place is paid for. Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

You are fortunate that your place is paid for. True, a lot of people my age have a huge mortgage to meet every month. I paid mine off as quickly as possible. I didn't want that hanging over my head. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Am I missing something? What is the connection with spaghetti hoops and nature? Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

Ex-Moderator | Could I? Yes. Would I want to? Hell no.
I'd definitely have to go back to having a roommate and I'd have to give up my car, all of my travels and a lot of other stuff. It would be livable, but I wouldn't be happy about it. |

No, no.. roomies are for students. Enjoy your freedom whatever the price. I think once you have experienced living alone, you never want to go back. I couldn't live on half of my current income, because my current income is about a quarter of what I was earning before I returned to school.
I mean, I could survive. Many folk have much less. But it'd be a WHOLE different world for me. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I could. But I'd have to sell my home and move to a much smaller apartment and get a lesser vehicle.
Coincidentally, I had a phone interview for a job this week that I would have loved. But it paid about half of what I currently make. There was just no way I'd do it. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Live, as in not die? Sure.
But I'm already living on student loans, borrowing as little as I can get away with. I'd have to live with 4 roommates, get food from the food bank, sell my car, and maybe still quit school altogether (tuition, books. . . would be tough on half of what I have now), which would prevent me from getting further loans, and then I'd have to start paying back the ones I've already taken. . . It would be tricky. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!
