I go regularly. If you haven't been in awhile, keep these things in mind:

1. Don't overdo it the first few times. In fact, it will probably take a month or so before you can really hit the weights with everything you've got (assuming you're doing weights). Whenever I have a lapse in my workouts, I make sure the first one or two trips back, I just basically go through the motions with real light weights. It gets my muscles back in the habit and helps prevent soreness.

2. I like to get my heart beating before I start my workout, so I do five minutes of cardio on a bike or stairstepping machine. I find that my workouts and energy level are better when I do this than when I don't.

3. And no matter what, ALWAYS stretch before the workout starts. I do the cardio, then I do my stretches. It makes the workouts better but more importantly - it helps prevent injuries and cramps. (I'm supposed to stretch after the workout too, but I never do neutral )

4. Rome wasn't built in a day. Give yourself time before you expect to see physical changes. However, you'll feel better INSIDE immediately. Also, if you're going for physical changes (losing weight, adding muscle, whatever), you HAVE to eat right. If you're not sure how to eat right, have a meeting with a nutritionist. Tell them what your goals are and they'll put you on the right track.

5. Finally, if you want the ULTIMATE motivational tool, hire a personal trainer and pay them a month in advance. Having someone do all the thinking when you're working out is a huge help. And, if you've already paid for the session, the odds that you'll skip it are very low.

Good luck!

2 weeks ago I started going to the high school near my home, I do a mile on the track there. But I think I will need to start the gym soon as it is getting dark a lot earlier now.

Good Luck to you prb!!!

I finally went back about six weeks ago. I found an awesome thing called Russian Kettle Bell training. It combines strength training and cardio...but with a more "functional" approach to both.

It's fun, too! biggrin
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
