I just deactivated my account, I don't see the point in having it! it is ending up all orgers just like myspace, one is enough. I had it to find IRL friends, but I can't even find any on there mad

I love it. I get updates for events/parties/etc and have caught up with old friends from high school and even childhood friends. I ignore all the little add ons and I seldom get weirdo requests like you do on myspace.

I don't add people unless I know them personally.

Exactly! Seems better for old friends. Very easy to find school friends on that site, whereas I had only a few on myspace. I ignore all that zombie, super wall, drinks, gifts crap and it's all very nice and straightforward. A few pics, posting comments, decent privacy options, and less of the spam and weirdness of myspace. thumbs up!

I know what you mean, although I did find 50+ odd old school friends on there. But, I am a bit wary of adding all the orgers I had on myspace. I ended up deleting my myspace account because it was just all too much. Really, I can just interact with most orgers here. shrug

I agree. I won't add Orgers unless they want to come looking to 'befriend' me. The only exception I make is to those Orgers I've actually met and are friends with.

eek You did? shows how much I pay attention to Myspace. Though an old school mate of mine found me on Myspace last week. She lives in Florida still and wanted to meet up...well I informed her that she contacted me a week too late...

I was always reluctant to join Facebook until a close friend of mine decided to travel and would only communicate through it. So last week I created an account and now i've been able to contact people that I haven't spoken to in about 7 years! That's my reason for joining. I don't care about all the games and clubs.

I did. Thing is, I'll start a new one at some point but not be so keen to add people. I feel mean about it sometimes, but I really want it for just a few people, not that many of them orgers. My aunt and uncle are on there, so I'd go there for that, plus Deron, who's a very sporadic orger these days. It'd be nice to keep it down to maybe 20.

I see you've got a Facebook. smile

You are not that helpful dear mad.
Okay let's say I search for a name and want to check the profile to find out if the person I am looking for is the right one and not just someone else that goes by the same name. How can I view the profile? And what happens if I poke that person confuse?

You poke someone and if they poke you back you can see their normally private page for a certain amount of time.

So that means that normally all profiles are private and when you poke somebody he may allow you to see his page for some time?

Pages are not automatically private but most people set their settings so that they can control who sees their page.

But ya, you have to be poked back to be able to access their page, even then...they might have their settings set to a limited profile, meaning you still might not be able to see everything until you become friends.

I can't gaurantee that I'll be much of a facebook friend though cause that shit sucks ass.

I like the events platform in myspace better, and the customizations far better. Hell, I like tribe better than facebook even. lol

But some of my old military friends told me about facebook so there I am. I haven't found but one of them yet though falloff

Why can't the org just be upgraded to be that way? Then Rupert Murdock better watch his ass!

When someone has a myspace profile set to private I can at least see parts of the profile so that I can find out if the person is the one I am looking for or is worth checking out or not. On facebook I hardly have any info about that person unless I contact this person. IMO that really sucks mad . I guess I won't use facebook too much...

falloff

Facebook is ALL about actually contacting people, it's not about spying on someone you might know - like it sounds myspace is like.

I didn't even know that about myspace. I thought pages set to private were totally private. I never go on there. I should just delete my account.
