Do you have boring, unecessary meetings at your workplace?

We have boring and unecessary meetings at my workplace once a week. Out of every 10 meetings we have I would say only 1 stimulates my mind. I just dipped out of this meeting early and said that i didn't feel good. It was all policy wonk stuff that has no application to what I do for my job. So now I am on heare wasting time till I go to practice. Take care.

We have meetings about meetings about meetings, and therefore our workload grows and grows but management don't see that of course. It's a living nightmare.

Yes! We have hour long meetings about crap that could have been put in an email. Not only is it long and boring, it effects my stats. Even though I have no choice but to go, it counts against me because I'm not on the phone taking calls. Ain't that about a bitch?

well ... I got my policy on that ...
a) If I can't prepare for a meeting, I'm not going
b) If I think the topic is not interesting for me or I can't contribute, I'm not going.
c) On mandatory meetings, I'll be there but I'll make sure we get things going.

I've been known to fall asleep in meetings shrug

Lucky you.....we have platoon sergeant meetings with our First Sergeant 3 times a week....a training meeting with all the company leadership once a week....then if something comes up, we're always open for an impromptu meeting....

Kinda. The meetings are usually necessary, but end up being a contest to see who can reinvent the wheel. My company is in dire need of a culture change. What good is Kaizen/ Lean, BPI/ Six Sigma, 5S, TPM, Hoshin, etc. if you'e not gonna be true to them?

EVERY f'ing Thursday. It's my (female) boss, three other (female) admins, and me. Last week, no lie, we discussed one of the other admin's at home storage space issues. Other gems that have been stated during these meetings:

"My mother is incontinent."

"I like pudding but not yogurt."

"The guy I do admin work for is an idiot."

I was reprimanded during my last review for being "most reticent during our weekly meetings." So? At least y'all don't know the intricacies of my parents' bladder functions or what dairy products I enjoy.

Good grief.
