Is it like with public speaking; that it often feels horrible before the speech but then when you're actually up there it's suddenly not so bad? Since I'm so old I have no il/de-lusions about being a pop superstar. But there are plenty of guys my age who make money at music. Even I've made a couple dollars (though nothing compared to what I've spent!)
As I'm sure you know Charlotte's husband earns decent money from playing with his band. Not enough to live on, but as I understand it they can still fund a holiday with it every now and then for example. I guess that could be an achievable goal at least? But I don't see anything happening with this band. Unfortunately they have a very limited future. It's really hard to find a band that you mesh with, though. Amazingly every band around seems to be death metal or oldies covers.
Yeah, I can see why people want to hear a few hits that they recognize, but I'm surprised that there doesn't seem to be any interest in original material out there? At least not on the pub circuit.

Yeah the only time I'm nervous is before I go onstage. I'm not usually the center of attention, so it feels weird to notice people singing along w/me or dancing to something I wrote. But I love it. That part doesn't make me nervous at all. The bands are out there, and people want all kinds of music. But it's like finding a woman (3 of them, in fact). Very hard to find the right one! Like it's easier to hook up with a kinda nasty guy/girl, it's easier to hook up with a metal band or cover bar band My Legacy

NDRU said: 1. Why don't you post a picture? Are you THAT handsome?
No, of course not. I'm neither more nor less handsome than anyone else. I just don't want to throw my picture out there and end up seeing myself kissing somebody's ass in some freaky photoshop abomination. Also it's just nice to not have to be judged by one's appearance regardless of what it's like, as I'm sure I've said before. 2. A multi-part question. I can't peg you, culturally. You seem very well rounded. And even American, at times. Have you lived in a lot of different places? Do you have an accent when you speak English?
Well thank you, I take that as a huge compliment and I feel that it's fairly accurate too since I don't really identify with any particular culture. I've only lived properly (six months or more) in Sweden, Canada and Japan but I've travelled quite a bit. I don't know if that's the reason why I'm cultureless / a cultural mutt though. I think that has more to do with my personality in general since I've always felt like that ever since I was a kid. The upside and downside are that I feel at home everywhere and nowhere at the same time. As for the accent, of course I have a slight Swedish accent when I speak English (for example, we have a tendency to pronounce "j" at the beginning of words as "y", so I have to pay constant attention to that) but I've been told that it's not very strong. And when I've really made an effort I've managed to fool native speakers. I was quite proud when I took the TESL course (where you learn how to teach English) in Vancouver and the instructor was shocked when I after ten classes told him that English is not my first language. That said, of course I often slip up on little simple things like prepositions that native speakers take for granted. Sorry for the lenghty response, it just happened to be a fun and interesting question to answer.

1. Why do you like Coke so much when Pepsi is sooooo much better. 2. I heard you have a photo of yourself drinking a Pepsi! Can I see it? 1. Coke is more potent, has more kick, delivers the goods far, far better than Pepsi ever has or will. Coke is Jack Daniels. Pepsi is a wine cooler. Coke is fresh-squeezed orange juice. Pepsi is Tang. Coke you buy because there is no other taste as exquisite, there is nothing else on the shelves that can match it. Pepsi you buy because it's on sale lol... 2. Blasphemy!! There's only one thing to be said about this!!!! Coke fucking sucks. Aha! So there is a photo!!!!????? Lemme see.

I was lucky I even got invited. It really really was intended to be meetup of Muse, Carrie and I and not much more. I then asked about cborgman and sosgemini just cause they're my boos now, and they got added. Somehow in that last week or so it balooned. I didn't really even know who was on the list until I met them for the most part. #2) I find you adorable, but you're kind of crazy.
