You know, I actually didn't hate House of Wax. Sometimes I'm entertained by these type of horrors.

the remake of the first halloween is way too scary for me....

Yeah, these remakes are pushing the gore and violence factor. Even though there was violence in the original, there wasn't as much as the remake. I still think the original was scarier. The suspense is what made the original scarier, imo. These new movies think over the top blood & gore is what's scary, and I don't agree with that at all.

nod The less you see, the scarier the movie. On the other hand, a few choice gory frames can be effective. Although it looks kind of cheesy today, when I first saw the head explode in Scanners, I freaked. lol

Hey thats why I saw that movie thinking it was a Horror movie (that and it had Kristy Swanson in it). I'm warning people that this movie sucks big time, in any catergory.

This movie is actually worth watching, it's hilariously bad, lololol. When he chops the head off the girl studying in the campus lawn, or sneaks up on the other girl in the elevator - with a chainsaw, it's too much, LOL

The Evil Dead movies ruled, Army of Darkness was by far the best cause it doesnt take itself seriously and is just good fun and one liner heaven! HAIL TO THE KING BABY! Oh and the TREE RAPING scene is something that ive never seen, nor most likely will ever see again!

im a bit over Tarrentino movies, as i think he really has some sort of mental problem, all him movies are just reasons for extreme levels of violence and gore, i mean look at Kill Bill 1 and that Crazy 88 slaughter scene its just pointless killing of hundreds of guys!

Although From Dusk Til Dawn 1 was pretty good, as with Army of Darkness it had a silly side to it, i mean filling condoms up with holy water and using them as weapons against the vampires is just gold! Oh and Cheech Marin playing 3 characters in the one movie is just funny too mainly because he doesnt put on different voices or anything so its fairly obvious. And i love when all the shit goes down and the band starts playing corpse instruments!

But bad horror movies, pretty much anything associated with Rob Zombie is bound to be bad razz well his original movies anyway, i hear his remake of Halloween is fairly good, but House of 1000 Corpses was just rubbish! the song is good but the movie aint!

Oh and if you wanna see a REALLY bad AUSSIE! horror movie go watch "Body Melt" for those of you who know who Harold (Ian Bishop) from Neighbours is you can see him as a mad scientist who even SWEARS!!! (Harold is a kind & Catholic old man in Neighbours who never does anything bad and when he does his very apologetic) and theres lots of other Aussie "stars" in there who you will recognize if you know your Aussie TV stars smile its a good laugh....theres some priceless deaths in it!

I dont mind the Freddy movies as you know they are going to be fairly corny and lots of death involved, and has one of the funniest scenes ever. In the 3rd one when the Dungeons & Dragons dude goes into his dream and yells "I AM THE WIZARD MASTER!!!!" and shoots Freddy and he just laughs and kills him razz

wait... you're only mentioning the first part by Robert Rodriguez, "Planet Terror".

Tarrantino did the second movie called "Death Proof" with no computer effects or outlandish gore.

The bad horror movies are my favorite ones. I never got into some of the most commercially successful horror films. Hellrasier, Friday the 13th, Halloween (except for the first one, which I liked), etc. don't do it for me.

Suspense movies scare me more than horror movies (Jacob's Ladder,Dead Calm, Alien, Se7en, Hitchcock, yadda yadda).

As for horror, I like the cheesy films like The Stuff, Trilogy of Terror, Blood Sucking Babes from Burbank ("They're not evil... just really really hungry."),and Toxic Avenger. Pure comedy.

Cabin Fever is just plain awful. Evil Dead 2 is my favorite.

Evil Dead
2 = love

for real.. this is the scariest thing i've ever seen.. Part I scared the hell out of me.. that chick @ the window 'queen of diamonds, ace of spades' eek damn.. and then that thing in the basement when she was peeking out eek .. and then the 'we're gonna get you.. we're gonna get you' lol .. damn ... Part II was scary, but was more comedy in that ... was nothing funny about part I for real eek .. was that 'Hell Raiser' type horror..

So is it a movie to avoid or not??? Since it is a 50's movie you have to give it a break if it's a little cheesy. I never seen it but will one day since it's a classic.
