By American standards, I'm ok on the eco front. I take public transportation most of the time, and when I do drive my car, well, at least it's not an SUV. I eat a vegan diet, which actually makes a big difference. I recycle. I buy mostly organic food. We use electric space heaters to avoid using the oil heat as much as possible (electricity where I live is mostly hydroelectric, which has its own problems, but it doesn't release carbon). I buy most durable things used. I'm not having kids. I try. I do still use a mix, I suppose, now that I think about it. And I take public transportation part of the time. I only buy used cars with good gas mileage. I re-use everything I can, donate anything I'm done with, recycle everything I can't donate, etc. I suppose I do maybe a bit more than the average american... Yeah, it's like, window cleaner? Doesn't matter. Tile/grout cleaner? Gotta nuke that shit. I think we're going further than your average American just by giving a fuck. Hopefully that's changing. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

Been recycling for about 10 years now (paper, glass, aluminum) - it makes it easier when your city/neighborhood/building provides the containers & takes it for you, all you have to do is sort (& I don't even have to sort in my current neighborhood). I used to do the food/leaves compost stuff but I don't now, I wouldn't do that in an apt. building.
I walk where I can, don't drive nearly as much as I used to but that's really just circumstance right now. I buy some organic foods, try to remember to use my reusable grocery bags. One bad habit I've adopted though - hibernating/stand by mode on the computer I used to shut down totally every day but my pc is trippin' lately & it's less problematic when I leave it on. But I only power on my monitor/speakers/printer when I have to. I could do better, the next car will be a hybrid...
