Geoff Tate of Seattle rock band Queensryche will sing the national anthem

October 14, 2007 NBC Sunday Night Football.

New Orleans first trip to Seattle since 2003.

This will be the 10th meeting between the two teams with Seattle holding a 5-4 advantage. Seattle is currently enjoying a three-game series winning streak dating back to the 2000 season. Seattle won that September 17 matchup, 20-10, in Husky Stadium followed by season-opening wins in back- to-back years. The Seahawks defeated the Saints 27-10 at Qwest Field on September 7, 2003, and 21-7 at the Superdome on September 12, 2004.

Prior to Seattles run, New Orleans took three straight in the series from 1988 to 1997 after dropping two of the first three series meetings to Seattle.

The Seahawks hold a 31-21 prime time record all-time, including a 15-9 record on Sunday Night and a 2-1 record on NBC. Seattle posted a 1-1 Sunday Night record last season. Seattle lost to the Chicago Bears, 37-6, on October 1 at Soldier Field and defeated the Denver Broncos, 23-20, on December 3 at Invesco Field.

Head Coach Mike Holmgren is 13-3 all-time on Sunday Nights, including a 7-2 record with Seattle.

Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis returns to Seattle where he began his NFLcareer in 1983 and served as an executive vice president from 1992-98.

Kickoff Time:
5:15pm PT

Records:
Saints (0-4)
Seahawks (3-2)

The game is in less than an hour. I don't think I would count the Saints out.
They are a very good team and have had some close games. Just the record. But they could click at anytime.
I expect good out here tonight. Full stadium. Great crowd. National TV. It's actually warm here. 65+ Perfect game weather. woot! highfive

Damn New England...

At least they're playing their best football right now, where the 'boys
still are going to improve.

The Superbowl will be a different story, if the Patties make it there.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Yeah, NE put an old fashion arse whupin' on my boy's. But I still like our chances in the NFC.

I would like to see our corners play in a complete game.

Henry was out and Reeves was toast;honestly the whole secondary was discombobulated.

NE has the best team in the league, sorry all you Indy fans.

If they are both undefeated when they play in three weeks, my money goes on goofy Manning lol.

We do get some help in about three weeks from Tank Johnson, hopefully Terry Glen will be back next month or sooner.

I thought the cowboys played well, they are just not good enough to beat NE, right now. I might not be a romosexual, but I think he's better than most of the qbs out there, and the running game looked pretty good against a tough d.

lol The saints are beating the seahawks right now falloff

No shit. We are playing like that right now. The snap mistake gave them a free TD.
Right now our Offense is impatient like trying to force plays.
The defence is lost. It's Halftime this could only get worse or better. Right now it's leaning toward worse. doh!

In college football news.....Ohio St. just took #1. mad. I'm surprised LSU didn't fall out of the Top 5 after that loss. I still don't fully get the BCS system. That was a long ass game. Must've been something in the air that night, because that Cleveland-Boston baseball game went through a lot of innings too. S.Florida's number #2.....a Cinderella? hmmm

LSU didn't drop out of the top 5 because Kentucky was ranked #17 when they played, AND are highly ranked by the BCS...the human polls weigh for 2/3 of the BCS ranking, the remaining 1/3 is determined by some arcane formula fed into 6 different computers....and in this case, LSU, South Carolina, and Kentucky are 2,3, and 4 respectively....apparently, the computers think A LOT of USF because again, under the computer rankings, USF is #1...what catapulted OSU into the #1 BCS spot was being ranked first in the human polls...

I agree. They've got a ways to go. But even with their defense's inability to stop Brady, they held on for awhile and even had the lead in the second half at one point. Lots of mental mistakes for them today and way too many penalties to beat a great team.

Now that the Seahawks got their hats handed to them, can we dispense with the huge Seahawks picture posts?

What happened? The same thing that's been happening for years and years and years. They get to the top and then they fuck it up. We'll see what happens tonight. It kills me to see Trot Nixon in an Indians uniform though sad

I was just expecting them to drop a little lower than #4.....not saying I hope they lose or anything. I know that out of the remaining SEC teams, they're the only ones with a true shot at winning it all. So I'm actually rooting for them in a sense. I don't really care for Ohio St., but seeing them play LSU for the title would be an exciting game.
