I wasn't named after anyone, per se. My parents liked the name Nancy, so it stuck. Although I have a sneaking suspicion that they named me after the Frank Sinatra song of the same name, since my dad loved that song back in the day. hmmm They also thought about naming me Elizabeth, which I'm thankful that they didn't. With my long last name (10 letters), it would have made my name humungous! lol
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

When I was a little girl, I was sure I was going to name my first born "Nancy" because of the Nancy and Sluggo cartoon, comic books from my child hood..I loved Nancy!!!!

Well I was going to be named YHWH because of my uncanny resemblence to our Lord and Saviour, the big G buuuut apparently that's illegal, so they chose Benjamin because I also farted upon birth, and Ben seemed to suit a child who would do such a thing.

Someone else remembers Nancy and Sluggo!! They don't print it in mine either, I have a feeling the writer is no longer with us, that was a long time ago...they even had a such thing as nancy and Sluggo cut out dolls, I'd dress Nancy in the cutest dresses, with her little round hair!

My Dad chose my name, I have no idea why he chose it.
There weren't any Michelles or Evons in our family.

However, there are two beautiful little girls who were named Evon after me. cool
One is Ceili Evon and one is Miah Evon which Miah is a short form of Michelle. She is the second most perfect child ever. biggrin

I love them both more than life.

Cute! You're right, the artist who drew the Nancy cartoons is probably gone now, since that was some time ago when the cartoon was still around.

My mother named me Tene (pronounced Ten-ay) after my cousin. It was her middle name and my mom thought it sounded pretty. Plus she wanted to it start with the same letter as hers (her name is Teri).

I later found out that it means "love" in an African dialect called Euroba. I love that because I think it fits me so well.
