We had chili for dinner last night, Home made and I tried to feed it to a bunch of wusses apparently... I was told it was hot but flavourful and that I could make it again but not any hotter. It is going to taste even better tonight I usually make corn bread with it but the English do not know what corn bread is and I did not have the ingredients to make it. I LOVE spicy chili! you should have invited me over, I probably would've eaten you out of house and home But for your corn bread, is it hard for you to find the corn flour/cornmeal where you are? In Germany it's rather uncommon so I have to buy polenta from the "Italian" section of my supermarkets, or I just go to the Turkish stores for cormeal as they share alot in commom with Italian cusine...

I too can eat the golden ones some times. When we made wine a few years ago it called for a 5 pound bag of golden raisins and I ate a few first before using for the wine- they were not bad actually. The wine turned out pretty awesome.

Next time I make it I will remember that... I am not sure if I can get corn meal here or not. I did not look when we were at the store really. I did not think anyone here would like it if I made it. I will look next time. It goes SOOOO good with spicy chili. I usually make my cornbread on the sweet side to be a good contrast against the hot chili.

Oh my goodness, YES, the sweeter one is the PERFECT balance for that! I wish you would've made it for them! Then every time one of them started moaning about the spicyness of the chili you could have just stuffed a little extra cornbread in their mouths to hush them up

Then every time one of them started moaning about the spicyness of the chili you could have just stuffed a little extra cornbread in their mouths to hush them up tbh we really tried to tone it down before serving but I guess it was still a bit hot for some. Luckily we had rice, baked potatoes and bread to cool the heat. There is something about sweet corn bread with butter and spicy chili though.
