I think the Nikon D40x Kit might be good for you (with 10 megapixels), go to Teds and try one out, feel in your hands. They say the Nikons feel better for women's smaller hands, as opposed to the canons, and the D40x is not as heavy as the D80 (my camera and lens are over a kilo together dead )

I don't really know squat about cameras lol confused...besides, didn't I give you camera suggestions about this time a year ago? lol...

If nothing else, just make sure the camera has a "action" setting (or some equivalent)...that usually makes the camera take pics using an extremely quick shutter speed (in that setting, the camera assumes it's capturing action and will adjust accordingly). Outside of that, I'd go with what Zombie, Retina and everyone else says... nod hug

yeah, all the Nikons have preset programs including action, but Kylie will be needing to use flash and red-eye reduction too for dance pics, since it is always so lo-light, so not sure how that works together with action hmmm

you bought an SLR whofarted this is the reason it's an SLR - you look through the viewfinder, and you see EXACTLY what you are going to take the photo of. If you used the monitor in the back, which is HUGE, you'd drain the batteries in an hour lol.
