Oh goodness yes. Although the service from Manchester to Sheffield is a bit unreliable. Its often the case that you have to take the rail replacement service which is a real drag if you're pissed and tired.

There is a cutt off time of a few hours but that's it. It's a nightmare with the underground in London though if you've been into the centre on a night out.

My (same) friend and I were on our way back to our hotel room in San Francisco after a concert and we both fell asleep on the MUNI. We got off when they made the last stop with no return tube, in the worst neighborhood imaginable--gangs, crackheads following us, and I had to pee really bad. We walked thirty blocks and I was about to pee my pants. The only place that let me use their bathroom was a pornography video store. There were cameras set up all around the toilet. Everything was closed, we had no cash, no cellphones (years ago), not even change for a payphone. When we finally found a cab that allowed us to drive to a bank and get money out, it was 6:30 in the morning and a $40 ride back to our room. Why did I just type this?

These days I know better--just carry napkins, pee in an alleyway and hitchhike. It worked for us the night of last year's invasion.
