I live in an area where the streets have no name.
Well, at least, we don't think that they do. I also live in an area where no one know how to read. to-wit-edit [Edited 9/29/07 12:17pm]

I don't believe one has to hang with the under-belly of society to learn, and have instinct or good judgement. Police officers see alot of weird stuff. So do EMT's. New Yorkers tend to be knowledgeable.

There's always the exception like... ...Anton. Seriously though, growing up in NYC, I developed acute hearing, eyes in the back of my head and the ability to seemingly sniff out dicey situations. This may have simply been a case of an evolutionary survival process taking place... ...Especially when Forty-Deuce was still an E-Ticket ride with muggers, bums, pickpockets and prostitutes ruling the area. Aah, the pre-Giuliani good old days. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Culturally, it's a great city to grow up in. And maybe wash it all down with a large egg cream. Going to Coney Island for a Nathan's hot dog, krinkle fries and an orange drink wouldn't be bad either. Finally, a street cart Sabrett hot dog... ...is mandatory. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I guess so. Kinda. As far as Thailand goes, yes. Generally though, I've never really considered myself street wise. I mean, I'm a middle-class Englishman who grew up in a village in the Cotswolds.
