This is an interesting little thing I've been considering for a while now. Actually, it's one of things I started contempelating since I started listening to Prince and learning about his career and such.

I'm closer with my mom, always have been. My dad was always traveling for his company. He's been to the Far East and Europe many times. Only over the past 8 or so years have I really gotten to know him well.
I knew him as the strict enforcer of the rules of the house and also the pressure that was always on me during my studies.

But in some strange way, I feel like I've gotten 2b more like him than I've ever realized. We both have the same taste in sports (very fanatical about football, both of us) and we catch golf on occasion. He's hardworking and in school, he was a bit of an overachiever, the same as I am. So I can understand why he always pushes me to be my best, because I do the same to myself.

And of course the biggest similarity. Our taste in music. He introduced me to Prince and I've since been grateful that he had me see the movie (or w/e was left of it that day). He showed me his dedication to his work and his passion for it and also the showman he is onstage. As far as Prince goes, my mom and I don't really see eye 2 eye. She tolerates my "passion" for his music, but she can't follow suit herself for her own reasons. And I respect/understand them.

So what do you guys think?
Which of your parents (or even siblings) do you feel you're the most like?

As a matter of fact, me and my brother were having a "discussion" and I saw my brother's face get all twisted up like "I dare her come at me like that."

Afterwards, my daughter was like,"Omgosh mom, you sound just like Grandest (my mother)."


My dad: introvert
My mom: extrovert

Im more like my mom.

When Im sweet,loving,caring and funny..im like her.
When Im sneaky and mean..im like him

My dad on a grand scale, my mom in the details.

Yet, there are many things about my life that neither of them relate to or agree with.

i look a LOT like my mom, and i have her emotional reticence & other random personality quirks too. my sister and i have the exact same sense of humor. i don't think i'm very much like my dad, which is probably why we argue so much. the weird thing is that i prefer how open my dad is, but i'm not like that at all.

The jerk side of me is from my dad.

The super sweet side is from my mom.

I'm a mixture of both for better and for worse.

well, personality wise, I think I am more like my mom. We were both shy in school... and we didn't really belong to a single clique. And we're both Harry Potter, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings geeks.

Thank the good lord I am more like my Mom, if I were like my Dad, I would be a drunk who died when his liver gave out....it has been 10 years, so I will let it go.

Physically, I don't really look like either of my parents. I actually look very much like one of my aunts. It's strange


Personality - wise, I am just like my father. We have a similar sense of humor, both love all types of music, we like a lot of the same movies, we have similar beliefs, similar attitude, we both talk loud . . . we are a lot alike.

my mom is more compassionate and impressionable, and my dad is more reasonable and takes no shit from anyone. If I don't get along with one, I get along with the other. Right now, I would say my mom cause we live together, and I only visit my dad once in awhile when I'm free.

Anyways back to the question, I'm a bit like them both, though I'm much more openminded than them, and it's all situational based.

I think I am much more like my dad. Same beliefs, reserved, caring, quality time with our loved ones is very important to us, hard working, funny, love music

i'm more like my mother. she's very laid back and open-minded-a tad on the irresponsible side. we have our differences but we are very close.

i've gotten more like my father as i've gotten older. He's more responsible and hard working and serious. I wish i was like that a whie back

I am really not like either one of them. I have pretty much become my own person..with my own ideas. Not sure how that happened, but it has it good points.

I definitely take after Mom(R.I.P.), personality-wise - quiet, laid-back, introverted, avoids people. But I'm also hard-working, practical, stubborn & careful with money like Dad. As I'm getting older I'm becomming more short-tempered like him. We have zero tolerance for B.S. - the big difference is, I have more tact than he does. Dad will tell it like it is to your face, whether you ask his opinion or not. I won't do that unless asked, and I'll use softer language(unless the person pisses me off).

Definitely more like my mom. We think a lot alike and share a lot of the same views.
