I tried. I watched it for five nights. My dad was one of the first black Marines to fight in the Pacific, and I really wanted to understand my history and how he felt. I took him to Washington D.C. this past summer to see the WWII Monument. Never seen him cry like that.

As for, "The War", it was just too emotional and intense for me. Couldn't watch the last two nights.

I'm watching it. Ken Burns really knows how to make history come to life. I wish they taught it this way in school.
