It's Apple Picking Time!! My mom and I went to a place that sold produce today and picked our own apples. The apple trees were directly behind the store, and the different types of apple trees each had a sign in front of the row, telling you which type of apple it was. The trees themselves were not as tall as we were expecting, they were maybe 6' high, so it was easy to pick whichever apples you wanted. My mom and I both picked a whole big bag of apples, and only paid $10.00 for a very heavy plastic bagful that probably weighed a good 12-15 pounds. You can't beat that price! Has anybody else ever picked their own apples? My mom and I really enjoyed it, and I made the comment that we should do it again next fall. There's nothing better than a freshly picked apple right off the tree. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Yes there is, when that freshly picked apple is coated in caramel! Caramel! The same place where I bought my apples had the caramel you can use to coat the apples with, but I didn't buy it. I haven't had a candy apple in years. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I would love to pick my own peaches, strawberries and grapes too. As long as the weather is nice, it's a go for me. thats one advantage of living in the deep south...tons of farms around here...all the fresh produce you could want...most of the local farmers here have an acre or two planted to just let the public get what they want for free...
