Extrovert , Introvert , OR Both

I'm mainly an introvert because I tend to keep to myself all the time. Don't know why , I just do. What about you? What do you considered yourself to be?

i don't have an extroverted personality, though i do like performing and making people laugh. i just like being in control of it and i like people to pay attention to what i'm saying, not just to ME ME ME. because of that, i think i'm more of an introvert. in social situations, i prefer little tiny groups and i'm more of a listener than a talker. i have no problem getting up and acting a fool in front of a huge audience, but that's because i know i don't have to hang out with them all afterwards. lol

i'm intoverted 99% of the time, which gets difficult occasionally but i've learned to like it regardless. when i'm extroverted it's rare, weird, and kinda crazy. lol

I've heard this defined as where you gain and lose energy. If interacting with people gives you energy, you're an extrovert. If it drains you, you're an introvert.

I, my friends, am an introvert. Which is why many of my homies are online. Interaction only happens when I know I have the energy. lol

I see what you mean. I am more of an listener than a talker too. I tend to act silly around my family and close friends but I tend to become quiet when I'm around people I just met or total strangers. lol

I feel more relaxed when I'm online too. You don't feel like you are being pressured to talk face to face. lol

He IS a listener. I don't think I knew what his voice sounded like after the first weekend I spent with him. lol

And then at a club or something he's all, "let's bond", falloff , and I found out he speaks many smart-n-funnies. nod

hmmm

I'm introverted, but I'll talk, I guess. Sometimes. I'm really moody. Sometimes people think I'm shy or upset or snooty. . .I'm not shy at all, and usually not the other things either. . .I'm just quiet sometimes. I guess it depends on who I'm around. Some people can pull a whole lotta words out of me.

i think some people take advantage of my preference to listening over talking, and they think it's license to talk my ear off. i've gotten better at deflecting verbal diarrhea, but when someone actually has a lot of interesting things to say, i could just sit and listen for hours. nod

i prefer to express myself by writing more than talking. i like taking my time to find the exact words i want to use, rather than just having to spit out whatever's available in my head at a given moment. ironically, i've taken a couple years of improv comedy classes and i want to get involved with improv again, and it's the very epitome of what i find uncomfortable. i guess i like it because it's a challenge - it forces me to communicate in the very way i don't like, but at the same time i know better than to get too comfortable with my limitations.

I'm sure there are a lot of nuances about you that come through better in writing. But as far as improv, the times you've nearly killed me have been off-the-cuff. I'd LOVE to see you onstage with other funny people.

I think that people tend to feel that if a person is more of an listener , they think that they are "weak" or "stupid" and it is not true at all.

I'm extrovert, but not introvert; if I'm surrounded by introvert people, I quickly get bored and I don't talk very much (which is not the same as being introvert); but if I am surrounded by crazy, extrovert people, I get mad, mad as Keith Moon was... lol
