Propagandists in the Soviet Union famously deleted politicians from photographs when they fell out of favor. In these photos, Vladimir Lenin celebrates the second anniversary of the Russian Revolution in Red Square. But in the second one, his comrade Leon Trotsky is suddenly persona non grata.

So your answer is "yes" then? You actually do believe that people were just as fooled back then by manipulated images as they are today? smile

Absoluetly not. They were fooled way more than we are today!
Look how sophisticated we are today. We trust nothing we see on tv.
We question every photo, cuz we are aware (most of us only vaguely) of the capabilities of photoshop and similar software. We don't even trust our own eyes, cuz we know about the weaknesses of our brains.

What about 100 years back? An overexposed photo was easily taken for a proof that ghosts do exist.
I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

We're more suspicious today, absolutely, but that doesn't mean we're fooled less. Far from it. For one thing, the fakes were extremely rare back then. Today we're absolutely bombarded with fakes. Also back then you had a chance to see through the fake since it was usually very poorly done, whereas today it is of such high quality that if you let your guard down for just a second, you've bought the fraud without knowing it.

I guess we'll never agree on this though. shrug

If you get the TV shows Entertainment Tonight or Extra, etc., they won't stop showing them there. Not particularly shocking, unless there are some more x-rated ones. It's just a boxer (though a very handsome one) wearing fishnets.

This thread deserves a song:

Morris Day - Fishnet
http://www.youtube.com/wa...4gYiddFDSY dancing jig

Trapped at first glance
I did a double take
A victim without a chance
Pulled in by the bait

When I caught the
Fishnet black pantyhose
Big legs show through the holes
Fishnet black pantyhose
She's out to catch you
With those fishnet pantyhose

Closer, I can't see
These drawers I could not pass
She turned toward me
Things were moving
Kinda fast, kinda fast

When I saw those
Fishnet black pantyhose
Big legs show through the holes
Fishnet black pantyhose
She's out to catch you
With those fishnet pantyhose

Fishnet black pantyhose
Show everything from
Her waist down to her toes
Fishnet, black pantyhose
Now I'm the catch
Anything goes
