STRANGE Phrases

I overheard a woman say 'Not on your Nellie' today which I've not heard in years.

Have u heard any strange phases?

Or do you say them yourself?
It's a mess, ain't it, sheriff?
If it ain't, it'll do till the mess gets here

i overheard someone use the phrase "behind God's back" to describe living far away from the city.

I had never heard that phrase before and now I love it and use it all the time.

"I'll make you smile the other side of your face in a minute", that's a good one.
Would you tape one side of the persons mouth so they can only smile on one side in a lop-sided manner? Hmm, I wonder.

It is rather straight-forward, I think.

It means; "Your sniffling like a baby irritates the hell out of me in such a way I could actually use physical violence to get rid off the irritation."

I saw a crazy woman buying 24 cans of oxtail soup once, and I know it was 24 as she threw each one in her trolley with a shout of '1,,,2,,,3,,,' like a messed up Count Dracula from sesame street.
