Crunk dancing yay or nay?

Friday night I went out with some friends.

We have one decent bar in town, so on my way home I stopped by to see what would be happening.

I was told that a dj was coming in and would be playing a mix of all different things. Not too bad...might be okay, so we go.

Ended up being crunk basically all night. The ones having the most fun were the dj and the crew he brought with him.

So right there I was thinking overall the dj sucked and was more concerned with himself having a good time.

But looking past that, I found it really boring. Same droning, repetative beat and when the group was out there dancing it was like a group of people having spasms.

Crunk is definately a style. It definately is not easy and is nice to be watched being done well, but as far as something to carry an entire night, I found it a drag.

Anyways...just wondering what ya'll think.

falloff

I felt SO OLD!!

I was trying to see it objectively. I can see that it is not something anyone can do, but it just looks like spasms to me to some degree.

I was REALLY feeling old until a couple of other people mentioned to me that it seemed like the dj was playing the same song over and over.

In my case, I think it was overall a bad dj.

Crunk dancing isn't really even DANCING! It's more stepping and occasionally leaning back on the downbeat. I'm convinced that actual DANCING is a lost art. confused

It's definately a style, but I agree it's not dancing.

Seriously, when the group was doing their thing, it was like they were all listening to a different song and NO ONE was on beat.

how can one define something as dancing or not?

Its a style of dancing. That's like folks that use to say pop lockin' wasn't dancing.

Its mostly folks that can't do it that say its not dancin'.....not you though Nothin'....at least you got your drunk booty out there...lol.

wow..you're sounding like some old fart....really. And I didn't say this was a part of hip hop culture but just using pop lockin' as an example.

Relax..really...lol.

I recalled my parents thinking break dancing was just plain stupid.

I think folks get mad when they can't do the dance then dismiss it as stupid lol

As my daughter said to me one day, "Let me enjoy being a teenager." Meaning stop crapping on everything this generation comes up with because we think so highly of our own.

The robot wasn't really dancin' but ya'll did it lol

It comes across as rhythmic spasms. What REALLY tripped me out was watching them dance in a group. It was like NO ONE was listening to the same song. To me, that's why it didn't look like dancing if that makes sense.

I was goofing around with it....by no means even close because I wasn't really trying (not quite drunk enough LOL)

And your daughter is adorable! Generation gaps are a bitch lol
