stuff i grew

we had a nasty frost last night so i had to clean up the garden.
white pumpkins, purple skinned potatoes (although they just look normal here confused )
my yellow fleshed watermelons did not turn out sad but here's the
last of my cucumbers and the carrots turned out well. i forgot to include the last of the spinach.

the frost wrecked havoc with the sunflowers as well so i salvaged what i could.
and of course these are my ghost pumpkins biggrin there were a couple
others but they were touched by the frost. they are small but happy with how they turned out.

would love to see the stuff you grew too. anything razz

Ooooo Awwwww... beautiful... and beautifully arranged. Cooking anything special? Potatoe carrot soup? I have never seen white pumpkin before... are you going to carve one for Halloween, or two? May I have a cucumber sliced, with salt please. smile You are too kind miss greenthumbemm, too kind. rose

~Hugs. How do you prepare the ground for or before gardening? What are your growing months? I am full of questions.

I don't have anything to show... you know... my yard or small area out back... is an arid looking mess. Anything put outside... will wilt in this heat, well, not everything... but you know what I mean.

Soon... rose Next week should be some cooler weather, for a a day or two at least.

Maybe I should go to the garden section at Home Depot or Walmart... lol Their misting set-up is really nice.

i just munched on carrots and ate sliced cucumbers in vinegar/sugar water... mmmmm! it is a tradition at home that you make potato pancakes for supper the night you dig potatoes as that is what my grandmother always did but i failed to do that lol. i was so looking forward to showing you my purple potatoes and they don't look any different in the picture lol doh!

the pumpkins will all be carved for halloween. razz i gave the two that were touched by frost to neighbors that might actually cook them up and will give one each to my friend's kids. will take pictures of the ones at the farm if they didn't all freeze.

last year i rented and rototilled the patch myself and said never again. this year a guy with a tractor came in the spring. i want him to do it in the fall this year as i still want to try fall seeded peas for an extra early crop. the white pumpkin i started indoors late march and set it out late may. it would have dried up without my old neighborlady surreptitiously sneaking in here to water it all the time i was away at the farm.
