I'm trying to justify my purchase So yesterday after my lunch time run I go change back into my work clothes in the bathroom. I leave my Chanel sunglasses on the paper towel dispenser and don't realize until an hour later. Gone. I know a med student is walking around with them on their head and it makes me sick to my stomach. They were my favorite and I bought them 3 years ago.
I decided to buy a new pair. They cost me $417.00 and I love love love them. Not as much as my old pair, but these are very close. My co-workers think I'm nuts and I know it is a big expense for sunglasses...but I love them! I don't have children, I work hard and I feel like I deserve them. I gave up my expensive clothes and pocket book fetish, I am only left with the sunglasses fetish. Am I crazy? Do you guys have that certain something you HAVE to HAVE? Another friend I work with said she'd spend that on a set of dishes so she can't fault me. Why am I trying to justify this? 
I hope whoever took my glasses has bad karma forever. I've found ipods and wallets in that bathroom and have always returned them to their rightful owners. It's just what you do. [Edited 9/21/07 12:16pm] | |

It's nice to treat ourselves once in a while. I'm like that with Coach handbags, I must have it if I see one I like. I've also been wanting some Chanel, Gucci and Versace sunglasses but for some reason I just can't get myself to spend that kind of money on them Rhythm floods my heart♥The melody it feeds my soul | |

I feel ya but I just can't pay that much for sunglasses and I LOVE them. I have to think hard if they cost over $20 because I know they will get lost. I have a coat and jacket thing. I'll pay for a cool ass coat or jacket. Right now I need a fly black jacket..funky. To be hones though....i still go to the thrift stores to find vintage coats....so. maybe nothing  | |

I once found a pair of expensive looking sunglassses.
I kept them. I know that the original owner must've felt bad about losing 'em, but by this one act, God only knows how many trees I saved. | |

They don't make that style anymore and there is a tiny scratch on the lens. If I see someone with them on I am yanking them off her head. I have the serial numbers at home to prove it but I know I'll know them when I see them. | |

I always return things I've found.
When I lose something important, I replace it right away. Preferably with bigger and better to assuage the pain. I bought a pair of Mau Jim sunglasses for $250.00 and the lens fell out 6 weeks afterwards. When I tried to put it back in, I cracked the lens. Sunglass Hut was of no help, (my problem) and I sent them in to the company. It was too much $$ to replace the lens, so I had Mau Jim return them. I now walk around with an expensive pair of glasses with a cracked lens. No one can see it, and they work fine. | |
