Help needed with Map (folder) options in Windows Explorer

I know I shouldnot have fiddled with the settings. This is the problem.

I used to have my map options set so that if I click a map, this map opens in the same screen.

Now, if I click a map, it opens in a NEW screen.

And yeah, I would not be asking your help IF I did not try to re-set. I even re-set and re-booted. Does not matter. If I open map options; the right box is clicked; open map in SAME folder, but it really doesn't.

And yeah, I have tried resetting all the folders to it's original settings (and re-booted) but still zilch.

So, help me out here! I cannot think of any other ways to put it bakc as it was.

Did you actually read my post? LoL
Tried all that... I am SO frustrated. Are there any other places thatmay override the settings in Map Options?

No, that is why i am confused. That is the only place that folder settings are done. It is global.
The only other check box is in the same place...start,control panel, folders, then view and scroll down to "remember each folders view settings" if you uncheck that then reset to open in same window it may work

Nope, still pop-ups.

Could you send me screen prints of your settings?
