My family's fucked, on heavy rotation in one year at my house was Prince, Violent Femmes, Depeche Mode, Amy Grant and Dolly Parton!

My family was Black Sabbath, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond and Pink Floyd (my mom!), Dutch Chanteurs (my dad), The Cure, Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, Doe Maar (my youngest sis was the real kewl one), U2 and The Police (eldest sis) and Iron Miaden and anything metal (my bro).
I guess I borrowed a bit from all...

Yes. I grew up weened on Prince . He is the only man I dreamed of as a child and I would kiss the t.v. screen when he would play. And I would tell everybody I was gonna let Prince be the one to di-virginize me. I would dream of him every night and that poster from Controversy of him in the shower with thongs was like the first time I really thought about sex. When I bought that at 12 I was like in Heaven. It was a great thing for a young girl to fantasize of such a sexy man in wet black bikini briefs. I just thought he was the cutest thing I ever saw.

The first 12 concerts I ever attended were Elvis concerts... I don't remember the dates, but I was quite young.

I do remember that he always had a very bad stand-up comic that opened for him... horrible.

My dad taped all the concerts and he still has the tapes.

We also had tickets to see him again right before he died... they offered refunds on the tickets, but my dad kept them instead and has them to this day.

Okay fine. I give in. At the risk of ruining my pristine musical reputation I offer this information reluctantly. My cousins had box seats at the time to the Palace (one of the big Detroit arenas). Much of my family is conservative and Christian. A lot of "secular" music was frowned on. They invited me to an Amy Grant show when I was about 11. Of course I went cuz it felt cool to hang out with my older cousins at the time. But I stayed in the inside part, ate pizza, and watched TV the whole time. I don't remember anything about the show itself. So there ya go. Happy now!?

So I guessed right !! HA !! yay! Maybe you told me that before, or maybe I was making a good educated guess...however the later of the 2 rarely happens wink LOL
