Your theatre experience? ;-)

When you go & see a movie, is it a Pleasant experience?

reason i ask is whenever i go with hubby..we ALWAYS have issues..yesterday some kids sat behind us & one of them bumped hubbys head with thier cold drink cup. eek ...well, hubby just GLARED at the kid & said..DID YA THINK THAT WAS FUNNY? or something to that extent..i was embarresed but i can see why he was pissed.

& the time before that the peeps behind hubby were kicking his chair...time before that they were talking throughout the whole movie!~~ mad ..you can see where this is leading. this is why he doesnt go to the theatre very often. I go ALOT more than him, & i never have any problems.

also curious as to where you like to sit? back row, front row, side..etc.. pepsi pretzel gummybear

I never have had a problem at the movies. My sweetie and I normally sit towards the middle, get all cozy and enjoy the show! biggrin

People are often down on movie theaters, but I love 'em! True, a noisy audience can be annoying when you really need to pay attention to plot details, etc., but a roudy, emotional audience can totally make a horror or action film! nod

When I go, I must NOT be late! no no no! I want to see everything from the first preview trailer to the last credit. And with stadium-style seating, I like to sit in THE center seat in the entire house, if I can. The picture and sound are best there. thumbs up!

I never mind the audiences either. Where I suppose some sounds canbe irritating, as they detract from a movie moment, I can find humour in people making 'scared' sounds at shock moments.

Anyways. Big screen. Loud sound. Bucket of popcorn. Sexy man next to me. What's not to like?

Thanks to glasses/contact lenses, my vision is perfect, so I don't feel the need to sit up front. I usually sit about 5 rows from the back. If it's not packed, then I like being in the middle of the row. I try to avoid the outside seats. I haven't bought popcorn in a long time. I usually just sneak in movie sized boxes of candy like gummi bears, junior mints, starburst, etc. It's much cheaper if you buy it elsewhere. The movies jack the price of everything up. Certain movies, I find are better with a packed house, but others I like when there aren't a lot of people in there. Any suspense/murder mystery drama is better with less people. I hate when people take their cell phones in there and fumble around with them if they find a movie boring. Just walk out if it's boring you. Oh god, the worst is when it's a sequel or part of a series and one person hasn't seen the previous movie, and they're asking a bunch of shit that relates to the previous movie. lol

If it's a comedy, or some fluffy-fluff popcorn movie I don't mind sitting in a packed auditorium and dealing with all the things that come with putting 300 some-odd strangers in a dark room 2gether.

If it's something of substance, or a quiet period film I'll watch it on a Monday afternoon, when the theatre is dead. If there's people being obnoxious, I'll tell 'em 2 shut up myself or go get a theatre manager.

I feel the same way about movies. You know if a movie is sucking, and pretty much the whole theater is in agreement, you might as well enjoy the jackasses running around, shouting, and being silly.

Oh, yeah... and the only acceptable refreshment combo is one starch (buttered, lightly salted popcorn is best, but nachos will do), some chocolate and a Coke or Perrier. nod

On the rare occasion, though, if you're at some artsy fartsy high-end arthouse, a glass of wine will do.

Noisy kids are my biggest movie pet peeve.

Seattle-ites tend to be a fairly courteous bunch, on the whole, and I don't see a lot of movies that are especially kid-centric. When I do, I make a point of going at odd times. So, I rarely have problems.

Yesterday a friend and I went to a movie (Across the Universe = excellent), and the staff at this particular indie theater allowed us to take our coffee in, rather than making us trash it at the door. love
