I am so happy I had the chance to meet your mom in July. Although under weird circumstances, it took me all of 37 seconds to feel her intense energy and only about 7 seconds to get a sense of her deep love for you. You were a great son and you made your mom very, very proud. You had a connection that is rather rare for people to have with a parent and while the last years were a challenge, that connection was still there.

I love you and am very happy you posted such a good tribute to the Joy you knew.

Although I only got to meet her once, your mother was very kind to me and I cannot tell you how good it did me to hear you tell me about the times she wanted to tell me "hello" or the thought that she liked me. I am glad I got to see Bowie with her and I am glad she gave us you.

What a beautiful tribute to your mom! She sounded like a very nice person to know. I can tell that you loved her very much, and I know that she loved you too very much. How sweet of some of your org friends to be with you to help you when you needed it most. I know that that meant a lot to you, and you appreciate it very much. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.

What an absolutely wonderful mother. What a glorious tribute you wrote. I got halfway through and was crying for my own mother who is still alive, but won't have anything to do with me. You are very, very fortunate to have had such a loving, fascinating, fun mom in your life. Memories like that are priceless.

sorry about your loss. having just lost my own mom 18 days ago, i know what you're going through. my mom had a lot of health problems also. that doesn't make the pain any easier to get through, i know. i told my sister the other day that the only alternative to our mom dying before us was for us to die before her, which would have been even worse. keep ya chin up, cry when you feel like it and laugh when you don't. you were a good son, something that we have in common. (and our names are both chris too...spoooky )

You've brought a deeper understanding of who you are, and how you came to be such a terrific person. Your mom sounds like someone I would have loved to drink a few bottles of wine with ~ ah, the stories we could share. Like you, the hardest part for me was no longer being able to pick up the phone and share my latest discoveries with my best friend...but as someone said above, you will find that at the oddest times, she will be there with you.
